4 weeks to go!

Wow... the nervousness is beginning to change to pure excitement as we are so close! There really is no help in worrying... In less than 30 days we'll be meeting our little one and what a world it will be! My tummy feels gigantic. He/she gets up in my ribs, down into my bladder, and everywhere in between. Somehow, the baby also feels to be slowing down. It's normal in the last days, as they gather energy for their incredible journey and also, just run out of room! I have a feeling that this one is coming early too, like Samara was a week early, so we'll see. There are a few black out dates, according to Marina, so we'll do our best.

I've got two full weeks of work yet which is unbelievable. We're going out with a bang with several Spanish guest speakers, a Spanish olympics at the beach, the publication of the first ever Spanish yearbook, and a trip into Boston next Wednesday night to watch incredible singer/song-writer Carlos Varela. I hope D2 will oblige for all of these pain-stakingly meticulous projects. I'll miss the kids!

Samara continues to read her 'sissy' book daily and play with her baby dolls galore. She is doing so well with her speaking but won't go anywhere the first 20 minutes we're somewhere without holding my hand. It's sweet, and keeps my feet and muscles aching! My one pending problem with this pregnancy is my veins which are ever so bulging, sometimes terribly throbbing and most definitely UGLY. I'm not one to care about my aesthetically pleasing or unpleasing self much, but I have to admit, these veins, that can be felt even through my pants, are yucky :( Doctor says they'll be horrendous if we have a 3rd! And sadly, unlike arteries, they aren't elastic and won't bounce back, but I'll feel a little better once I'm 40 pounds lighter. Between the lbs I've put on (a fair few more than with Sammy D) and swinging around a 25 pounder a little too often, the scale in my head and on the bathroom floor is not my friend.

We've loved seeing good friends a lot lately, some of whom have already been blessed with their second deliveries. I'm looking forward to having them all around a whole lot this summer and beyond, and making sure my Mummy doesn't feel her empty nest too empty, with Marina leaving to Salve Regina in the fall!

For now, here's to the sunny, warm weather, lots of happy days with Samara this May, and getting ready... ready, ready, ready to RUN!
