HEAT
So... summer is coming. Our house was officially warmed on Saturday. I guess the new neighbors thought it was Samara's 1st birthday given the dozens of babies in our yard. Who knew we had so many friends with babies all of a sudden! But, oh, the summer of baby parties is coming with Samara's 1st, her baptism and much more fun. The weather has been spectacular and our house seems even more perfect for us each day. With the sunshine, Samara is clapping and waving, pointing and daring to stand for a few seconds on her own. She is unbelievably gorgeous and it's great to get the summer frocks out again and show off those thighs we all adore! I simply cannot imagine being back in Bogota, away from everyone we love here. Some choices we've made have been hard, but this one was easy and as we go on our second, third, eighth walk of each day by the sparkling ocean, among the magnolia magnificence of this part of the world, we know how very blessed we are. Samara slept through the night last night. It shouldn't be much of an accomplishment, but I think it'd been 6 weeks or so since that happened. She has been waking up every night around 1:30-2am for an hour. After watching Oprah or Ellen on DVR while I feed her, or just gazing at her chubby cheeks, I just can't get back to sleep. So... I'm zonked. And with the 90 degree weather, yikes! Truly. I think more tired now than when she was first born. Of course, doesn't exhaustion always seem to get more extreme?! Like pain and temperature, I don't think the human brain can remember it accurately. Hence the constant yearning for more BABIES! Yes, with Samara finally sharing some toys and with us enjoying this stage with her so very much, how can you not think of more babies?! Maybe for now, we'll just enjoy seeming them pop up in our garden, along with the daffodils, tulips, wild grass and... dandelions! She's good at picking those with Dada.
