Tough Day
Samara and I have had our first day apart. It was heart-wrenching. I mean, just look at how adorable she is. It's so hard to leave her! Late yesterday, I received a call from a Tower teacher asking me to sub, and so I did. I left home at 7:30 and returned at 4. Yes, I did steal two 20 minute breaks away during the day, during which I fed her and kissed her and hugged my little girl like crazy, but we both survived and I'm just glad I don't have to do that again tomorrow, the day after or... ever?! Well, we'll see. I am going back in January, but just for half a day, which is a great relief. All of that said, it was fun to see all of my old colleagues and friends again and the 3rd graders were tremendously warm and amusing. Two even made little happy 5 month birthday cards for Samara during recess! Yes, she's 5 months old! So, it was one fine day, but I sure am glad it's over!
