Time's They Are a Cruisin'

What a couple of weeks! It is rough not having internet at home! It has been a busy, busy time, with exams at school and lots more. The good news is Baby D is bigger and healthier than ever and this time in 2 days we will be on our first cruise, all together! I am so excited... for the sea, the waves, the sun, the romance, and not least the yummy 24-hour food! Last Saturday, we went for a routine check-up, also getting my latest thyroid results. Fernie Green first told me I have to take more Thyroxin and then took my blood pressure. Unfortunately it was high and remained high for the duration of the appointment so we had to stay a while, and then return on Sunday for lots of long and prickly tests - a full 4 hours of them! I never knew being pregnant meant so many endless blood tests, but I'm grateful for the attention rather than being left to worry on my own. The good news is, my placenta seems to be somewhat on the move up, we think, for which I am soooo grateful. Now perhaps we can have the pushing, panting and tearing delivery every girl always dreamed of! I've been mandated to take my blood pressure 3 times a day in the meantime, but despite the craziness of this week, it has been pretty much under-control. My tummy is feeling more solid and movable than ever and it still brings a smile to my face whenever I feel baby move. So many people talk of missing this feeling once the baby is born, and already I can understand why. No matter what stresses or crazinesses are going on at that moment, the whole world seems to stop when Junior dances for us.
All else is well. Steve has his first interview for a job back in Boston tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed for that. Our condo has been empty for 4 long days already and so if anyone knows someone looking for a lovely, bright, ocean-view home in Swampscott, give me a buzz. Our salaries here don't transfer well to paying a U.S. mortgage, not to mention those Harvard loans! I'm sure it'll work out okay soon...
We leave at 4am on Saturday for our 5 night cruise, with Fernie's approval, thank goodness, and then 3 nights with Mummy, Daddy, Squirrel and Marina in Ft. Lauderdale. I feel so lucky to have so much to look forward to. This week off from school is a welcome break, but all that awaits us is so exciting! I may not write again until back in Bogota, but if you're in Miami, Jamaica, the Caymans or somewhere in between, look out for the happy lady with a wonderful husband and her precious bump! No doubt she'll be grinning very cheesily!
