Hooray for my gorgeous baby and her adventurous, loving Daddy. We had a great weekend. Friday night we went out for dinner. Yes out. We're are seriously saving pennies and so this is very rare, but it was a great treat, Samara was perfectly behaved, and we had a delicious meal at a romantic little tavern here in Marblehead, to celebrate our new tenants (HOORAY!) and just enjoy each other. We had a gift certificate from a student of mine so that didn't hurt either! I love going out on Fridays as it makes the weekend so much longer. On Saturday, we went into Boston and enjoyed the 72 degree weather...wow... with a revisit to the ducklings, a perfect walk around the Common and Public Gardens and... Coldstone ice-cream! Hooray, again, for gift-certificates. I have a little stash of them that we keep for special occasions, many as old or older than our wedding, but such treats. I especially love when there's an unexpected dollar or two left on the card that gives you a reason to come back one more time, even if it doesn't buy you much. Saturday evening we spent with Squirrel who is back from URI and all the family for a sultry steak barbeque. Wow... all you need is one gorgeous day to keep you going and going for weeks on end. Sunday we had yet more fun with cake at church, Samara's first 'big girl' birthday party, and a lovely dinner at Aunty Jean's with the other side of the family. Samara was pooped by the end of this perfectly sculpted weekend, but it was worth it. Hooray for my hubby who always has a great idea up his sleeve and can convince me to do just about anything...eventually. No one knows Boston like him, and no one can make me as happy.
