Building

Check out my tower.

Constructed circa 9/27/2009 6:54am

Heck, I can even build with my eyes closed.

And I can make things that are bigger than me (about 29" that is).

Perfect.

Fall is here. It is so crisp. So beautiful. The leaves are all tangy and orange and Samara has reminded us how she is child of the wind. She catches it as it blows through her golden hair and giggles with giddy joy. Check out our beautiful Saturday morning at www.victoriadosch.blogspot.com
I am in love with these two Dosch's.

What to do with a tree that's so grand to all creatures great and small?

Indian Summer Days

A snapshot of my afternoons. My little girl also has a place in her heart for baby...books!

Is she not the most beautiful thing in this world.

Her joy is unlike any other.

Sunday night

The hardest part about working on a Monday morning is seeing this kind of sunset on a Sunday night and thinking that the days are not quite as endless as they once were when it wasn't the last night of summer. It was almost 80 today, we have some sun on our cheeks and it was another perfect Dosch weekend. Samara turned 15 months on Friday, unbelievable, and she is RUNNING everywhere. She's happier than ever, being on her own two feet, but less happy to be strapped in or held down now that she can run, skip and jump. She is truly passionate about photos (love that girl) and trying ever so hard to speak. Mostly she manages a 'waz da' to ask what something is, which she does ALL the time, and each time she does, it gets higher and higher pitched, her trademarked: 'i diid it' and a lot of animal noises. She also LOVES singing and Old McDonald, Toot Toot and If You're Happy and You Know It are still the faves. I say it every month, but THIS is my favorite age. You can't know the crazy smiles and laughter we have every day. Time stand still!

Back to school!

Classes started back up on Wednesday and it's now our first weekend! It feels triumphant. Every week does when you have two full time jobs. You get to the end of each day, too tired to be tired, too thankful for another great day to be overwhelmed by the need and yearning to be in so many places at once. I know I am lucky to have my dear Mummy watch my little one, a job that I love and doesn't stress me, a place full of inspiring happy faces that took me back, and so much joy around me all day long. It's exhausting, working at school, working at home. Crazy hard WORK! Samara's new nap schedule means that Mummy enjoys her 2-3 hour nap (as she should) and when I get home, it's go, go, go, but it's going to be okay, better than okay, and while I get there, it's one great day at a time.

Ever wonder where Samara gets her bluest eyes?

Here are Samara's great aunt Jean (left) and Grammy! We celebrated Anne's 60th (+ Uncle's Steve's big day) yesterday at the same restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner at. Happy memories. More happy times! We got Anne a lovely handmade grandmother's bracelet with the names of her 3 granddaughters and their birthstones from the Etsy seller Cinnamonsticks, highly recommended! Grammy seemed quite happy that the bracelet appeared to have space for more! My mummy was there and said that she would not like a bracelet, but a belt!

Welcome, Fiona Adele, to our crazy, loving family!

My older sister, Antonia, had an angel of a baby on September 4th. Just look at her! They are in California, but I am THRILLED we already have tickets to visit over Columbus Day weekend. She looks just PERFECT and we know what a blessing a baby is to us all. Hooray for baby Fiona. We love you!
